Helene-Matras-Prize
An annual Prize for a (clinical or experimental) research project in the field of Clefts of the Lip, Alveolus and/or Palate and of Craniofacial Anomalies will be awarded by the Austrian Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPCA). This Prize was initiated by Prof. Dr. Helene Matras and is awarded according to the following conditions:

At present an annual prize of € 5.000,00 is awarded. If more than one project is judged to be worthy of receiving the award the prize can be shared. If there is no project worthy of receiving the award the prize can be held over till the following year. |

The planned project has to be described in detail (with information on the estimated start and end of the project). The application should not exceed 10 pages DIN A4. A confirmation of an Ethical Review Board has to be attached if required. Projects have to be submitted to the Office of the ACPCA in duplicate by a registered letter (address see below). Closing date for submissions for the Prize 2011 is April 30, 2011. |

Excluded from submission are Heads of a Clinic/Department/Institute (except as Co-authors) and projects which are already subsidized and/or submitted for another Prize and/or projects which have already been published. |

Submitted projects will be judged by the Board of the ACPCA and/or an independent jury appointed by the Board. This decision is final. |

The Award will be presented officially at the biennial Symposium of the ACPCA or at the annual Congress of the Austrian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. |

The winners of the prize are responsible for the completion of the project within the time schedule. An annual preliminary report has to be presented either orally or in written form. The results of the projects have to be published on behalf of the ACPCA, a reprint of the publication has to be sent to the office of the ACPCA. |

These conditions can only be modified by the Board of the ACPCA in agreement with the founder Prof. Dr. Helene Matras. |
